Jason McCloskey

Jason McCloskey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Spanish at Bucknell University. His research focuses primarily on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Hispanic poetry. Of special interest to him is the portrayal of seafaring and piracy in epic poetry and how the depictions of these relate to the poetic tradition, historiography, legal discourses, early modern painting and contemporary theory. His scholarship has appeared in journals including Hispanic Review and La revista de estudios hispánicos. He is co-editor, along with Ignacio López-Alemany, of Signs of Power in Habsburg Spain and the New World. He is also co-editor of Campos ibéricos, a series published by Bucknell University Press.

Jason McCloskey es Associate Professor en el departamento de español en Bucknell University. Su investigación se centra principalmente en la poesía hispana de los siglos XVI y XVII. De particular interés es la representación de la navegación y la piratería en la poesía épica y cómo éstas se relacionan con la tradición poética, la historiografía, los discursos legales, la pintura renacentista y la teoría contemporánea.
